紙子と透かし紙布の風土ローブ

和紙の衣類には、和紙を細い糸にして織り込んで布にした 紙布（しふ）を仕立てたものと、和紙そのものを衣服とした 紙子とがあります。 この風土ローブにおいては、その両方を それぞれの特性を活かし 組み合わせています。
鉄紺の透し織の素材は、和紙と綿とを織り込んだ紙布で、透け感とともに無骨な風合いが特徴です。 一方、前立てや袖口、フードの縁には力強い表情の紙子を配して、印象的にも物理的にもエッジを効かせ、ハリを持たせました。 さらに、曲線の多いフードは、裏に薄い麻を合わせることで、立体的なシルエットを残すように設計しています。 フードの被る・外すの他にも、前立てや袖口の折り返しによる印象の変化も楽しみ。 当然、軽量で風通しが良い上に、下に着た小袖の肩から袖の稜線が透けて見える様には、幻想的な美しさがあります。 シワによる陰影を映す紙子の古風な表情との組み合わせも、風流。 希少な素材の集積であり、合わせやすい色目なので、足の速い風土ローブとなりそうです。

This is a HOODROBE with the strong texture of KAMIKO that gives an edge and the openwork of SHIFU.
There are two types of cloth made of Japanese paper: SHIFU, which is made of fine threads of Japanese paper woven into cloth, and KAMIKO, which is made of Japanese paper itself. In this HOODROBE, both are combined by making use of their respective characteristics.
The dark blue material is SHIFU woven with Japanese paper and cotton, and features a simple texture with a transparent feel.
